Leicester City LFC U14 ’66 – vs – Desford U14 Girls
07 Oct 2018 – KO: 12:30
Ref: Oliver Tydeman
The girls faced Desford Girls, a team in 3rd place in their league.
The game started slowly with the girls trying to get a grip of the match, a few players had been juggled to play different roles and positions to allow them to gain a bit more experience.
Both teams cancelled each other out for the 1st 25 minutes without a single shot on goal being recorded for either team.
A change to personnel saw that change with Dulci coming on down the left to give Sienna a breather.
That settled the girls down and they started to work on their passing a lot more. The Desford backline were breached a few times with Sophia rattling the woodwork and Demi sending a few shots wide. When Half-time came around the teams where level but LCLFC ’66 definatly having the upper hand.
A few personnel changes and a reshuffle of the formation saw the girls start the 2nd half well and they pressed on.
Dulci opened the scoring with a fantastic run from just inside her own half and a shot from the edge of the box made their keeper a spectator.
The girls pressed on and a the Desford backline seemed to be holding firm until Demi broke down the left and sent a perfectly weighted cross in for Sophia to add the 2nd of the game.
The game finished 2-0 and see the girls progress to the next round of the county cup
Final score 2-0
